If you've browsed Royal Caribbean's website lately and noticed something slightly different about the name of its famous Bahamas private island, you're not imagining things. The cruise line has quietly updated all references from "Perfect Day at CocoCay" to simply "Perfect Day CocoCay" — dropping the word "at" with no official explanation or announcement.

The subtle shift was first spotted by the fan community Loyal To Royal. A look at Royal Caribbean's current advertising confirms the new styling, with copy on the cruise line's website now reading, "Perfect Day CocoCay by Royal Caribbean offers an island getaway unlike any other." The island's amenities, attractions, and overall guest experience remain completely unchanged by the rename.

The destination has come a long way since it was just called "CocoCay." In 2019, Royal Caribbean poured millions into a sweeping transformation that added a water park, pier, kids' splash pad, hot air balloon, and a floating bar, among other features. More recent additions include the adult-only Hideaway Beach and the new Secret Garden Bar. Today, 20 Royal Caribbean ships offer sailings to the island through April 2028.

While the cruise line hasn't spelled out its reasoning, the three-word format does align more neatly with other destinations in its growing "Perfect Day" portfolio — including the long-discussed Perfect Day Mexico, which remains indefinitely on hold due to environmental concerns with the Mexican government. Royal Caribbean has also recently opened Royal Beach Club Paradise Island and Royal Beach Club Santorini, with Royal Beach Club Lelepa in the South Pacific planned for 2027.

Royal Caribbean Blog first reported the name change.
