Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas was delayed returning to Baltimore on September 24 as a nor’easter brought high winds along the East Coast. The ship’s arrival was moved to approximately 2 p.m., rather than the usual early-morning return.
The delay also affected passengers embarking that day. Boarding was expected to begin no earlier than 4:30 p.m., with guests asked to arrive by 6:30 p.m. and be aboard by 7 p.m.
Royal Caribbean said travelers with flights booked through the cruise line would have their arrangements adjusted automatically. Guests who made independent air bookings were advised to handle their own changes; the line said it would offer up to $200 per guest for domestic flight changes and up to $400 per guest for international changes.
The ship’s planned nine-night Canada and New England sailing was also replaced with a Bahamas itinerary, including calls in Orlando, Nassau and Freeport, due to forecast conditions along the New England coast. Source: Royal Caribbean Blog.
