Florida students in kindergarten through 12th grade can now enter the 2026–2027 Florida Fish Art Contest, a statewide program from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Wildlife Forever.
Participants choose a Florida native freshwater or saltwater fish species, research its habitat, behavior and conservation needs, then create an original handmade two-dimensional artwork. Digital artwork is not accepted.
The contest has five grade divisions: kindergarten; first through third grade; fourth through sixth grade; seventh through ninth grade; and 10th through 12th grade. Freshwater and saltwater first-place winners and runners-up will be recognized in each division.
Students in fourth grade and above must also submit a one-page creative writing piece based on what they learned about their selected fish. Entries are due online by Feb. 28, with contest information and submission guidelines available through the FWC Fish Art webpage.
