NASA has named the four-person crew for SpaceX Crew-14, a long-duration mission to the International Space Station planned to launch no earlier than spring 2027.
NASA astronaut Kayla Barron will serve as spacecraft commander, with NASA astronaut Chris Birch assigned as pilot. Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Makoto Suwa and Roscosmos cosmonaut Arutyun Kiviryan will fly as mission specialists.
Once docked at the orbiting laboratory, the crew will become part of Expeditions 75 and 76. Their work will include scientific research and technology demonstrations intended to support future human exploration of the Moon and Mars, as well as research with potential benefits on Earth.
Crew-14 will mark the 14th commercial crew rotation mission operated by SpaceX under NASA's Low Earth Orbit Program. It will be Barron's second trip to the space station; she was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2017.
