Disney Cruise Line Heads Back to New York and Puerto Rico

Disney Cruise Line is bringing back two fan-favorite departure points — New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico — as part of a wide-ranging expansion for Fall 2027 and Spring 2028. The announcement covers new ports, longer itineraries, and a growing Florida hub, with early booking opening August 31, 2026, for select Castaway Club members and general sales beginning September 8.

The Disney Wish will sail into New York in late September 2027 after completing its inaugural European season, marking the line's first NYC departures since 2023. The ship will run seven voyages ranging from four to seven nights, with five of them stopping in Bermuda and others visiting New England and Atlantic Canada — including Boston, Halifax, and St. John in New Brunswick. The Wish will wrap up its New York run with a five-night crossing to Puerto Rico before shifting to a seven-night Southern Caribbean sailing out of San Juan, visiting Aruba, St. Maarten, Bonaire, and Dominica.

San Juan itself gets a bigger Disney presence through the Disney Fantasy, which is scheduled for a seven-night Southern Caribbean sailing in December 2027 followed by a five-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary ending in Fort Lauderdale. The Fantasy returns to Puerto Rico again in late April and May 2028 for two more Southern Caribbean sailings calling at Curaçao, Bonaire, Barbados, and Antigua. Meanwhile, the Disney Magic will make history with two Panama Canal repositioning cruises — a 14-night run from San Diego to Galveston in November 2027 with a maiden call at Fuerte Amador near Panama City, and the reverse voyage in March 2028 with a first-ever stop at Colón, Panama.

Florida cruisers will find more options than ever at Port Canaveral, which will host three Wish-class ships simultaneously starting in November 2027. The Disney Destiny will base there for the first time, running three- to seven-night sailings to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean. The Disney Treasure continues its Eastern and Western Caribbean seven-night voyages from the same port. On the other side of the country, the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will sail Baja and Mexican Riviera itineraries from San Diego, while the Magic eventually relocates to Galveston for four- to seven-night cruises. In Southeast Asia, the Disney Adventure keeps sailing from Singapore with new three- and four-night itineraries, and select departures from December 31, 2026, will add Langkawi, Malaysia, as a new port of call.
