Guests staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter in late 2026 should be aware of a multi-month closure coming to Scat Cat's Club. Walt Disney World has announced that both Scat Cat's Club – Café and Scat Cat's Club – Lounge will close simultaneously on October 6, 2026, for refurbishment. The two venues are not expected to reopen at the same time: the café side is slated to come back in December 2026, while the lounge portion is expected to follow in January 2027.

For fans of the resort's beloved beignets, the treats aren't disappearing — they're simply moving down the lobby. During the closure, beignets and coffee will be served out of Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, French Quarter's counter-service food court. Seasonal Halloween offerings, including the Ghoulish Delight beignets, will also be available there through November 1, 2026. A temporary bar is also planned near the café space from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. during at least part of the project.

Scat Cat's Club – Lounge, the table-service-style jazz venue open nightly from 5 p.m. to midnight, is something of a hidden gem at the resort. Tucked into a corner of the lobby near the front entrance, it features live jazz on Thursdays through Sundays starting at 7:30 p.m., along with drinks and small plates. The space dates back to the old Bonfamille's Cafe, which closed in 2000, and quietly reopened under its current name in October 2019 — just before the pandemic.

Walt Disney World has not specified what changes guests will actually see once the venues reopen. The work could involve back-of-house kitchen updates to better handle demand for beignets, an interior refresh, or both. The refurbishment is confined to one section of the lobby and is not expected to affect guest rooms or other resort amenities.
